De Gea's name has been mentioned alongside the one named Loris Carius in recent weeks, and that is no good sign.
But this is not the first time he's been compared to Carius.
In 2018, Marco Asensio of Real Madrid made fun of De Gean by calling it “carius”, after a pre-sesonal match against Manchester United.
This reaction by Asensio came after the Spanish goalie's sad appearance at the World Cup with Spain, where he accepted six goals from the seven shocks that went towards him.
The images were published where Asensio is heard and seen calling it “carius! Karius! Carius, 18x1... as he was approaching Manchester United's goalkeeper.
At the time, it was meant to be a joke.
