Major financial problems: Renowned English club fire half the workers

Wigan Athletic Manager Gerald Krasner has said the club has appealed against the 12-point reduction after it entered the management process.

The Football League has said that punishment will be introduced this season if Wigan avoids the last three places on the board, the Periscope broadcasts.

Krasner confirmed that 75 club workers have been laid off and that executive figures from the club have agreed to work free until the situation is resolved.
