To counter the government's restrictions and measures that are being unable to work in the cafe, the Gastronomous Association has decided that this Monday to close the premises and conduct a symbolic action before the Government of Kosovo. According to Gastronomers' Association Chairman Petrit Kllokoqi, business losses are enormous, adding that the circulation in Gastronomy has been around 350 million.
According to him, about 14,000 workers are on display in Gastronomy and there are 4 thousand businesses at the same time.
The loss of Gastronomy is staggering. But we know that the circulation in Gastronomy has been around 350m euros, about 14 thousand workers are on display in Gastronomy and there are 4 thousand businesses at the same time. So far there are all municipalities that have bankrupted locals, but there is still an exact number. Measures have already been toughed and are greatly impacting Gastronomy”, Klokoqi added.
He also mentioned three measures that have been imposed by the government regarding limiting movement, keeping distance, and performing work within the club.
“on the three measures that are imposed by the Government, one is limiting movement, the second is not performing work within the bar, and the third is guarding the distance between tables. We know how much space all the premises have. 50% are from the revenues. At all meetings, we are acting at between 10 and 15 percent, which has dropped by 85 percent. But the costs are huge because the rent has continued, the water, the current, the workers have had to pay for”, he told EO.
Among other things, Klokoqi said around 26 locals in Pristina are in closure, and if that continues, more coffee will be closed.
He added that their symbolic shares are to show how organised they are, how large they are and that they are the biggest contributors of the economy, while added that this is the first symbolic action, but will not be the last if their demands are ignored.
