Manchester City was sentenced by U EFA on suspension for two seasons by the Champions League and the League of Europe in February, after being found guilty of violating rules of financial honesty between 2012 and 2016.
The Premierligla Club reacted immediately by appealing UEFA's decision to the Court of Arbitrazhi Sports (CAS), which examined all evidence before making its final decision on July 13th.
City's sentence was finally abolished, and their 30m-euro fine was reduced to 10m euros. This decision prompted numerous questions to be raised about FFP rules and the CAS decision.
Now it has been found that nine Premierligla clubs had asked the CAS not to abolish Manchester City's sentence.
The CAS has confirmed that those nine clubs are: Arsenal, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester City, Livepool, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolfes.
Five out of the traditional Premierliga six top demanded that Manchester City be punished, while they were joined by Leicester City and Wolfes, who competed for exit to Europe, and Burnley and Newcastle United ended up in 10th and 13th place.
