In a Facebook Embassy post, prosecution of the civil code draft in the Assembly is a step on the road towards ensuring equality for all citizens.
The yesterday's step towards handing over the civil code draft to Parliament is a step on the right track for human rights and equality for all”, it says.
Yesterday, the Justice Minister has shown that the Civil Code gives way to same-gender marriage and is engaged in a special law that allows homosexual marriage. The American Embassy has welcomed this initiative.
“We also welcome the Justice Minister's plans to open debate on the law to unify the same gender, similar to other states of the region”, said in a post of the US Embassy in Kosovo”, the post.
