Werner refuses to play the Champions League

Timo Werner has indicated that he is unwilling to play in the August RB Leipzig match in the Champions League, after Chelsea reportedly paid the 60m-euro clause for breaking his contract with Leipzig.

The 24-year-old will complete the current Bundesliga season after just 11 days, but he is not willing to return to the team to play in Europe, despite having reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League for the first time, after the triumph against Tottenham.

U n EFA wants to complete the season in the Champions League and the League of Europe, restarting the matches in August, when the matches at local championships and cups are over.

After Germany's elite football league ends on August 27th, it causes Leipzig to have more than a month between the recent league matches and remaining matches in the Champions League.

The international football website Goal reports that Werner wants to complete the transfer to Chelsea as soon as possible after Bundesliga ends, in order to adjust to life in England before the 2020/21 season begins. This makes him not part of the Leipzig team for the Champions League matches.

The official announcement of the transfer of football players is expected to come at the end of this week, while the two clubs are trying to find the best way to complete the deal, which has been complicated because of Ovid-19.
