So far, more than 750m euros have been disbursed to about 240,000 cases, according to the German company, Kosovo Press broadcasts.

The internet platform on which owners can apply for compensation will be closed on July 6th, after which applicants will be able to submit documents, such as lawyers' bills, only by mail.

The damage procedures in Germany are almost complete, Volkswagen reported.

Several thousand demands are still being assessed or processed, but the total amount of payments should not be drastically changed next week, the VW claims.

They say that over 90 percent of the cases in which applicants have a right to compensation ended up in a solution.

Depending on the age of vehicle and model, compensation ranges from 1,350 to 6.257 euros.

The judicial proceedings were established by the owners of vehicles in Germany, represented by a consumer protection organisation, to avoid an action trial. Compensation is paid for loss of vehicle value.

The Dyselgate scandal erupted in September 2015 when American regulators announced that the company had installed equipment in cars to counterfeit emissions data. The equipment showed different data in evidence than when driving.

The company has so far paid billions of fines and damages based on indictments and solutions.
