The U.S. Florida police have launched internal investigation, as a video on social networks showing how a police official from Sarasota puts his knee around a colored person while trying to arrest him.
In the 90-second video filmed with a mobile phone, it can be seen how three policemen try to arrest a man, broadcast a telegram.
There one of the police officers is seen holding his knee to the head and neck of this man, lying face to face for asphalt.
The man who was arrested for domestic violence is screaming: why am I arrested? And a cop keeps his knee on his head.
I've been screaming and wondering why I was shot down and being arrested”, he started putting my knee over my neck”, declared Patrick Carroll during a CNN interview.
The video has only fuelled even more anger at citizens, at a time when protests are continuing throughout the United States seeking justice and reform after George Floyd's death.
In the police report regarding the incident that has assured him CNN, one of the officers involved, says that “has been handcuffed to Caroline”, the “suspect has attempted to escape and that he has refused to enter the back of the police vehicle. With the use of small force, it has collapsed and is kept on the ground until it has calmed”.
The police department in Sarasota has confirmed that the moment of arrest emerged for the existence of this video.
And after analyzing the images, Bernandet DiPino, chief of police, has immediately ordered the launch of internal investigations, the police department reported.
The officer who has not been identified and who holds his knee around his neck is being investigated, while it is not known whether the two other officials on the scene and shown on video will be faced with some measure by the disciplinary commission.
