Khahab Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaetja reportedly will unify the lightweight title in a UFC 253 duel on September 19th. The game won the right to challenge the undisputed Khhabb champion when it defeated Tony Ferguson in the UFC 249 confrontation last month.
Conor McGregor had hoped to fight the American, but his claim was rejected by the UFC before announcing the withdrawal.
McGregor reported to social media at the weekend that he was leaving the sport, but it's not the first time he's done something like that -- he pulled back a year ago, but he returned them to the ring after 12 months.
A date has already been set for the Khabab vs Gaetje duel, which will take place in less than three months, in a place still to be set.
Not surprisingly, the challenge is set after a relatively long time. The Russian fighter has just finished Ramadan, a month in which Muslims do not eat or drink during the hours of the day, so it takes a considerable period to return to the proper physical form.
Coronavirus ' crisis also continues to make life difficult for warriors, especially those who live outside the United States. Khab's father remains in critical condition after he became seriously ill last month and has problems associated with Coddy-19. He was in a coma last month in Moscow after he got sick with pneumonia. The 57-year-old came out of a coma after surgery, but he needs a lot of time to recover.
Khab's manager, Ali Abdelziz, said the warrior's father had signs of improvement.
“Khabab is very strong, his family is very strong and his father is very strong. He's getting better. Open your eyes, answer a little bit. That's a good sign. Allah controls everything. We have faith that he will be better, we are very happy about it. ”
