The week-long battle by Lewis Hamilton, over the fight against racism, following events following George Floyd's death on May 25th in Minneapolis, have affected an unprecedented initiative by the six-time world champion's team that will be launched on the weekend tour of Austria with an unprecedented image machine.

More than Silver Arrows, Mercedes cars must now be called Black Arrows. Four days from the first round of Austria's Great Price Free Tests, Mercedes has discovered the image “bruck look” of the W11 that will be run on the runway by Lewis Hamilton of Valter Botta. The “stylisted” machines are already almost completely black, with little red and green access to sponsors. The word “hangs racism” is written in the tail, identifying a choice that Team Director Toto Wolff highlights with these words:

“Racism and discrimination have no place in our society, in our sport, in our team: it's a fundamental principle for Mercedes”.
