EU Emisari for dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, Miroslav Lajcak, has started meetings with leaders of the Western Balkan region.
The first one Lajcak has met is Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic, writes news.net.
The meeting, as Lajcak has indicated, took place in Brussels, and that it has been discussed in it for the entire Balkan region and Euro-Atlantic integration.
“Very happy to meet President Djukanovic in Brussels today, and to continue our discussions on developments in the region as well as the European integration process”, he has written.
Lajcak, meanwhile, is expected to visit Kosovo and Belgrade these days.
His visit has been confirmed by the European Union itself for news.net, which has stressed that Lajcak's face-to-face meetings with the region's leaders will take place shortly after air transport restrictions are lifted due to pandemic.
“Miroslav Lajcak plans to travel to the region to see his counterparts personally immediately when the actual travel restrictions are lifted and transport links are restored. Personal meetings are the best way diplomacy works and are part of the daily work of every diplomat and EU representative”, the EU's news news release has said.
