Kosovo Olympic Committee (KOK) has marked June 23rd Olympic Day, with the planting of over 20 trees at Pristina University's campus, the Online Economy reports.
In this case each elite federation and athletes have planted a tree with its own name.
Kosovo Olympic Committee Chairman Besim Hasani said that with the gathering of these trees, it aims to honour Kosovo athletes.
Today, on June 23rd, the Kosovo Olympic Committee joined the World Olympic Movement initiative to mark this day in different forms and we thought it was a special day”.
“Now here we are planting trees with the names of Olympic athletes, trainers and executives, and this is an gratitude to the sacrifice of athletes and trainers to honour and glorify the image of Kosovo”, Hasani said.
The coach of the Kosovo National in Judo, Driton Kuka, said such symbols were also followed in Pec.
“A beautiful symbol, where we've also attended a school in Pec where we were third as students, and it's just happened on June 23rd on Olympic Day, and that year we've brought the Olympic medal and I hope next year we will bring more medals”, he said.
Judah Federation Chairman Agron Kuka congratulated Kosovo next year on winning as many medals as possible at the Olympics, which are expected to be held next year.
This day symbolizes the Olympics, which are sacrifice, courage and, above all, cooperation and courtesy of athletes. I wish the athletes next year to be in the best way presented at the” Olympic Games, Kuka said.

The flower planted the other jungle, Nora Gjakova, who said he hopes Kosovo will bring more medals next year.
