Benny Gantz, who is half-mandarian in the post of prime minister along with Netanyahu, who currently serves as defence minister at IZral. He was sitting next to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyyah, who did not mention the incident in his opening address.
“We regret the incident in which Iyad Halak was shot to death and we express condolences to family”, Gantz said. “ ”
Halak's relatives said that he had autism and was going to a school for students with special needs, where he studied every day when he was shot.
In a statement, Israeli police said they uncovered a suspected “object that looked like a” pistol. When he disobeyed orders to stop, the officers opened fire, the statement said. Police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld later said no weapons were found.
Palestinians and Israeli human rights groups have long accused Israeli security forces of using excessive force in some cases, or of killing individuals who might have been arrested or using deadly force when their lives were not at risk.
