The Kosovo Health Ministry has decided to indefinitely halt testing for COVID-19 contact cases.
Under a decision that has forwarded him to the municipality, the IKSHPK's recommended Ministry of Health will now only test the hospitals at the Infectious Clinic and those with serious symptoms of the virus.
Such a decision has confirmed for “Zin” three different municipalities in Kosovo.
Gjilan's deputy chairman, Arben Ismeli, has said that today there will be no tests and expect the outcome of more than 100 samples taken days ago, while saying a decision issued by the Health Ministry last night suggests there will be no new tests.
The “are currently out of reach for over 100 samples taken on 19-20 dates. As much as I have information, today there are no samples taken due to a decision by the Ministry of Health in co-ordination with the ICH. Not only for us, but it's a general decision, except for those that are lying in the Infectious Clinic or with the most severe symptoms of the virus, no more will be tested”, Ishmael said.
Likewise, Pristina Community Health Director Bujar Gashi has confirmed this, saying that only symptoms will be tested from now.
The symptoms alone will be able to be tested from now”, Gashi has told “Zerin”.
The same has been confirmed by the director of Health in Drenas, Arsim Haxhiu, who has said they have received instructions that will not be tested on contact cases.
He said citizens and institutions should adhere to the manual compiled by the Ministry of Health.
“Voice” has also tried to speak to officials from the Ministry of Health, but they have not responded to calls.
The last few days in Kosovo have had an increase in new cases with Corleone, where 1,086 active cases have been confirmed so far.
