The mayor of the Gjilan municipality and one of the leading LDK figures, Lufti Haziri, says that the Constitutional Court's decision to pave the way for forming a government from the second-ever party in the elections is a new precedent in Kosovo, stressing that the LDK is morally in a difficult situation.

LDK deputy chairman during an interview for the Balkan Talks” show at Euronews Albania said the VV has shown it cannot manage the successes, and that was one of the reasons why the coalition failed.

The failure to manage success is the chronic problem of Vetevendosje Movement. Even in 2017, the first party came across major coalitions, but failed to manage internal success and now failed to reach the coalition with the LDK, with the management of the opposition nation for more than 52 days because of capital errors, where Mr. Kurti did not reach two plains, on the outside level with the main partners such as the US, and on the internal level in the implementation of policies with LDK”, Gnjilane's chief community said.

According to him to achieve power are two ways, elections and political negotiations on the table, and at this point Haziri added that responsibility does not fall on the LDK, but on the VV after failing to form a new coalition.

“does not fall responsibility over LDK, Mr. Kurti has had three bids from the president to build the second parliamentary majority, but has refused because there are no political partners. But, morally difficult, it is extremely difficult, it is challenging, it is raised the political agenda and faced domestic policy”, Haziri underlined.

Despite the new government's vote in Parliament received only 61 votes, according to him, the coalition has 67 MPs. Haziri said this number of votes does not prevent the adoption of laws, but the problem will be ratification of international agreements as expected in the coming weeks to have with Serbia, as 2/3 is required in Parliament. He says the government “Hoti” will have a very difficult time facing the VV and the PDK, naming the ruthless “opposies”.

But, he said, he values politically that Mr. Kurti is changing the method, but not the political goal, by adapting it to the culture of Kosovo citizens who are not for protests, which can degrade in violence, and by accepting the Constitutional Court's decision. Regarding Vjosa Osmani's stance against forming the new government and not participating in the session for the government's vote “Hoti”, Haziri said Vjosa should continue to retain the post of Speaker of the Parliament and must continue to be LDK deputy chairman.

“in our political culture, we don't have the philosophy of elimination of exclusion or departure. But we need to have coordinates between ourselves and not let go after the perception of the mirror, where we have two images but that's actually the same. We must have an LDK”, Haziri stressed, meaning he will vote against a possible exclusion.

The LDK deputy chairman said further that before the start of dialogue with Serbia, all reciprocity measures will be removed, as there cannot be conditions negotiations. While questioned by the journalist, Franco Egro if the LDK will vote on an agreement involving the exchange of territories, he replied: “Absolving territory, constitutionality and sovereignty or exchange of territories are not accepted for the LDK, and as such are already defined and politically, and on the government platform for talks with Serbia”, Haziri said.

He envisions difficult negotiations, saying that, there is a 110-year war between Serbia and Kosovo, while remaining to define the format of negotiations by adding that, the LDK wants the talks to be led by the government and not by the president as it has been so far.
