The most trophy football club, Pristina, was soon released with an announcement Tuesday evening that its match against Kosovo's current champion, Fernikel, can be held with the audience's presence at the stadium's “Fadil Vokrri”.
Their response came few minutes after the Kosovo government abolished the decision tasked with developing sports events without the presence of the public. In fact, on Tuesday evening the executive has voted the health minister's proposal, Armend Zemaj, which will take effect since June 28th. According to Zemaj, this decision has come after recommendations from the National Public Health Institute. Kosovo's top football, handball and volleyball are the only collective sports that have started activities to close the seasons.
Since allowing sporting events has played without viewers' presence, and from Sunday on June 28th, there will no longer be stops from state bodies, and the respective federations remain to decide on the issue. But in the Kosovo Football Federation (FFK) the opening of stadiums for viewers finds it dangerous. Pristina was hoping that the champion match against Fernikol at the “Fadil Vokrri” would play with packed tribunes on June 29th, Monday. He had also made the post on the social network.
“Pristina ) Fernikli is expected to be played with the viewer. Following the government's recent decision, which envisions abolishing measures against mass collection from June 29th, Monday, the day Pristina hosts Fernikil from 7:00, can be carried out with the audience's presence. However, our club awaits the final decision by the awareness organs near the WFF and will further inform you of the time”, was Pristina's announcement.
However, not only the Fernikil match, but also the other matches until the end of this edition, which was suspended in March because of the pandemic and resumed at the beginning of this month, likely all would play behind closed doors.
In the Kosovo Football Federation (FFK), they are determined to adhere to instructions that they had compiled prior to the relaunch of the races, so that the remaining games of this edition can be held without audience presence in the tribuna. FFK Secretary General Erroll Salihu says it is dangerous to return viewers to the pandemies at this time when the number of coronary infected is increasing from day to day.
He says primary for The NFF is everyone's health, and the goal remains to close this edition without any virus-affected football player, just as it resumed. Before the competition resumed, all elite teams' footballers underwent testing for the Coronavirus and resulted in negatives.
We as the federation don't believe that we will allow the return of fans to this edition, because it's dangerous at this time when every day we are having a large number of cases affected by coronary. We need to close this edition like we resumed, behind closed doors to maintain everyone's health because this is very important”, Salihu insisted. The Executive Committee will also have a meeting on this issue, but we're thinking fans might be back from the new edition. Clubs could be damaged economically, but we have to be careful. I hope everyone has an understanding of this”.
Light beside any NFF decision
In fact, since they have resumed competitions in Kosovo football elites, most clubs and typhogroups have repeatedly sought to open the stadium doors. Football contests in Kosovo were suspended on March 13th when a decision was made to ban all sporting activities after the first cases affected with the COVID-19 pandemic. Football was the first sport to return to activity earlier this month, with teams resumed with group training in May.
At Light, they agree they are penalised because they do not have the powerful support of <x0-techlex1>, but insist they respect any decision coming out of the NFF. Sports director Valon Zymberi says they have welcomed the government's decision, but now the key word on the issue will have the Federation, which is also responsible for keeping the races. And you wish the fans were allowed presence in the stadium.
We as a club have been penalised by this pandemic in many respects, and especially in terms of the absence of our fans in the Tribona, who have supported us in each match. We as a club welcome the return of fans because for us they are our 12th player. Actually, we play for fans”, Zymber said. And as far as the decision is concerned about whether or not they will be allowed, then that depends on the NFF, because in some other states the Federation has decided to allow fans and governments not. We will respect any decision, but I wish that fans would be allowed to support us”.
Meanwhile, Llap coach Tahir Batatina, since the start of the races, has called for the return of fans to the tribuna, once again has repeated the same stance.
“I think viewers should return to the tribuna. The state bodies are higher than the NFF and if they have abolished this decision, then it should be respected. But if the NFK decides to be played without fans, then let it go. But football is played for viewers”, Batatina said.
