Government coalition at risk even in Vushtrri, Tahiri says the decision belongs to VV

The broken coalition between the Vetevendosje Movement and the Democratic League of Kosovo, at the central level, has raised many dilemmas for the life expectancy of coalitions that have these two parties in different cities in the country. Such a coalition collapsed in Prizren, while it has deteriorated in Vushtrri.

Usually, the deputy head of the Vushtrri municipality, which came from VV ranks, was present.

But on Saturday at the joint conference of Health Minister Andmendi Zemaj with Chairman Xhafer Tahiri, it was not without Muzaqi from VV.

Vushtria Community Chairman Xhafer Tahiri tells Kosova Preis that he does not want to be influenced by the political beliefs and in the municipality he leads to happen what happened in Prizren.

Until he stressed that this decision belongs to the Vetevendosje Movement, whether or not he wants to continue this coalition.

I have built a coalition in order to serve the citizens of Vushtrria by the end of the term. I would not have wanted to be influenced by party beliefs and to happen what happened in Prizren, so that because of party beliefs, the functioning rule of Prizren citizens is damaged. The decision belongs to the LVV, it's not our decision... We have so far had good co-operation in the town of Vushtrri in the function of achieving the goals we have given as municipal governance, but what will happen further is not up to us, but on those”, he said.

He estimates that the municipality has had excellent co-operation with past governance led by Albin Kurti, which according to him has similar co-operation with the new Avdullah Hoti government.

The government of the Republic of Kosovo functions under the Constitution and law of the Republic of Kosovo, at any time we must have a government that has legitimacy from the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. As a municipality, we have had excellent cooperation with government and government, because to me as mayor of the municipality, the most important is the citizen of Vushtrri to provide effective services and protect him from Coronavirus. We have the support of this entire government”, Tahiri said.

As for the situation created with the Covid-19 pandemic, Vushtrri's first told Kosovo Press that the economy of this municipality has suffered incalculable damage. He announced that only the economic package of the municipality approved in order to ease the burden for businesses and for family economies has cost the municipality 300 thousand euros in revenues.

The “Dments from Coddy-19 in the Vushtrri economy are uncalculated, we are now doing a study on the influence of Coddy-19 on the Vushtrri economy, in order to identify the measures we will take to address this damage. We're going to present this study to the Kosovo government, the assembly and the donors to help the Committee for economic recovery... what I can tell you right now is that only the economic package of the municipality approved for business relief and family economies has cost the municipality 300 thousand euros in revenues, which we cannot collect... So the impact is chain”, Tahiri said.

We remember that the municipality of Vushtrri in recent days is among the municipalities with more positive cases with Covid-19.
