The longest match postponed in football history will resume tonight after Rayo Vallecano and Albacete play only the second half of the match that began in December.
The two sides will play the remaining 45 minutes in the empty stadium on Wednesday, after the match was interrupted nearly six months ago due to insulting cheers, and Albacete will play with 10 players after their player Eddy Israfilov received red card at the end of the first part on December 15th.
During the first part of this match of Segunda Division, Rayo's fans accused Ukrainian Albacete assailant Roman Zozulya of being a Nazi and belonging to extreme right-wing groups in his homeland.
“I think that something like this has never happened in history”, Albacete coach Lucas Alkaraz said on Tuesday.
There's nothing weaker than preparing a match that you have to start with 10 players to play after three months of inactivity, without fans”.
Alkaraz was not actually the manager when the two teams met in December after Luis Miguel Ramis was dismissed as Albacete coach in February.
