That is because, according to the warning, certain developments are expected, both for the 21st anniversary of Kosovo's liberation, as well as for the rally of the Vetevendosje Movement on 12 June.
For the latter, the U.S. Embassy warns that although called a quiet gathering, the same may turn into violent gatherings.
Some events have been warned from June 10th to June 17th, 2020. These events include not only the 21st anniversary of Kosovo's liberation and the 15th anniversary of the Vetevendosje Movement. The VV is organising a political protest (“collection”) on 12 June, at Skenderbeu Square, Pristina. U.S. government personnel and citizens are advised to avoid demonstrations and to be careful if they are near any large rally, protest or demonstration. Even peaceful advertising can soon turn violent. Gatherings in large numbers could turn into a super-evening event of COVID-19”, the US Embassy in Kosovo said.
The actions the American Embassy advises its citizens to take are as follows:
Avoid the area (Skenderbeu Square in Pristina on 12 June).
Check local media for new news on the above-mentioned protest, as well as its expansion in other cities.
Avoid crowds.
Don't show off.
Alert your friends and families to your location.
Be careful about your surroundings.
Review your personal security plans.
