After Istanbul's withdrawal from the development of the Champions League final, UEFA appears to have decided to transfer the remaining matches of the final phase of this competition to Portuguese capital Lisbon.
The news has been delivered by various European media, under which Lisbon has been deemed more suitable than Frankfurt and Moscow to host the remaining matches of the Champions League.
The decision has already been made by top leaders of the European football government, while formalisation is expected to take place right at the Executive Committee meeting, scheduled for 17 June.
Plan UEFA is due in August to start with the four undeveloped 1/8 phase matches, while then the eight teams that will pass into the quarterfinals will play all remaining matches in Lisbon to avoid the rounding system.
