The Kosovo government today has decided to lift the reciprocity measure against Serbia, and this decision has also been welcomed by the American Economic Oda in Kosovo.
Their response reportedly is an important step in regional economic integration and in improving relations between Western Balkan states.
The current decision of the Government of Kosovo is also the response to calls by President Trump, Secretary of State Pompeii, other senior US administration officials and the US Embassy in Kosovo, as well as evidence of Kosovo's commitment to strong strategic reports with the United States.”, it is said in their response.

The full economic integration of the Western Balkan region contributes to increased trade exchange, promotion of potential for attracting foreign direct investment, and therefore to the creation of new jobs for each country.
In this respect, the American Economic Oda welcomes today's decision by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo to abolish barriers in the freedom of movement of goods, praising it as an important step in regional economic integration, but also in improving inter-ethnic relations between Balkan states, as a precondition for advancing the Euro-Atlantic travel of Balkan states.
Today's decision by the Government of Kosovo is also an answer to the calls of President Trump, State Secretary Pompeii, other senior US administration officials and the US Embassy in Kosovo, as well as evidence of Kosovo's commitment to strong strategic reports with the United States.
The American Oda in Kosovo risks that mutual recognition, trade without barriers and strengthening economic ties would improve perception of Kosovo and other Balkan states in the eyes of American and other foreign investors.
All in the end, the American Economic Oda reiterates its stance on implementing air communications, railway and road agreements between Kosovo and Serbia, which would enable the strengthening of the private sector and the opening of the potential of both countries for accelerated economic growth, but also rapid economic recovery after the COVID19 pandemic.
