Democratic Union for Integration leader Ali Ahmeti, who launched the election campaign for early parliamentary elections on July 15th, at the Prespa promotional convention, unveiled the long-awaited candidate name for first Albanian prime minister in northern Macedonia, the former delegation and deputy chairman of the government and co-piller of the Ohrid Agreement, Naser Ziberi.
After intensive consultations with civil society, academic world, expert and creative opinion, but even with friends and lovers, we reached the unifying and meritive name to be the first Albanian to race to break even the last one-ethnic framework in northern Macedonia, the one of the country's prime minister, and that is Naser Ziber, who has all virtues to lead the country's executive towards full equality. Ahmeti said”.
While the candidate for prime minister in his address expressed confidence that the time has come for full equality of Albanians with others in northern Macedonia.
I was surprised by Mr. Ali Ahmeti at the invitation to meet in his office. He informed me that he had consulted many respected people of civil and academic society and that my name was among those proposed as a superparty candidate. Honestly, I was surprised and naturally felt appreciated. To be completely honest, I thought to myself that this would not only change my life but also be a big responsibility. A simple decision to make and not too long to think about it. But there's a truth in the fire and an individual is appreciated by the decisions you make for social good in the face of individual comfort, so I said: Yeah!
