The reaction to the prime minister's letters in office, Albin Kurti, who had written to US vice president Mike Pence the previous day.
Artan Behrami, political adviser to Kosovo President Hashim Thaci in his Facebook profile, has accused Prime Minister Kurti that in his letters he is not mentioning Kosovo's enemies, Serbia, Russia and China at all.
“Foreign Policy is national interest, is the incarnation of domestic politics and the reflection of political unity. But, the dismissed prime minister, Albin Kurti, has turned it into personal interest, in the possession of the dogmatic ideology of the Vetevendosje Movement and in reflection of the political division”, he has written. According to him, diplomacy and foreign policy have reduced it to several square miles, from “Cafe Union” to “Papillon”, converting it into gossip mechanisms.
This thinking, according to Behram, is best enjoyed by reading the contents of the letters Kurt sends to the world's capitals.
“On these letters, Kurti amnist the Serbian campaign for recognition and efforts to destabilise the region from China and Russia. The contents of these letters constitute a diplomatic scandal, a serious precedent, and, for many representatives of the states who read them, a paradox they are experiencing for the first time, he wrote.
Thaci's adviser has said that since 2008, diplomats have been taught to accept ʹPosition Papersʹ to empower Kosovo's international position, support the campaign for recognition, economic and political support, strengthening the integration process and to oppose Serbia's policy against Kosovo.
“While, Kurt cards do not contain any of these lines! These letters, sent to the capitals of the world, are based exclusively on paranoid and speaking of Kurti's inner enemies, who are intent on ruining and overthrowing him! Without asking anyone, Kurt in these letters tells world leaders how it is the solution to all problems, while political opponents are the problem for all solutions!”, he wrote.
Behram has written that it is the first time a prime minister has not dealt with foreign policy in international communication, a prime minister who does not seek recognition by states or membership, nor does he even oppose Serbia's campaign. Rather, in these letters, Kurti leads a dezination campaign for the situation in Kosovo and for political opponents!”, he wrote further.
In the end, Behram has called on Prime Minister Kurti to make public all letters to Kosovo citizens.
