Start or cancel the championship? M CRS With a Major Decision

Minister Dumosh has asked sports organisations to specifically report to the Sports Department what phase they are at and what are the emergency needs they have so that institutions responsible for managing pandemics in Kosovo, the Ministry of Health and other liaison institutions can clarify how the continuation of sports preparations and the development of sports events in the respective federations will be realised.

The minister, among other things, said the MKRS has signed memorandums with each sports organisation and to witness support and co-operation with the KOK and sports federations, has invited their leaders to clarify and co-ordinate further steps to gradually start sports life in the country to normal.

“We, along with the KOK and sports federations in the Republic of Kosovo, will address it with a joint letter to health institutions in our country to clarify and allow the launch of preparations, sports exercise, and the continuation of competitions and other sports activities”, Minister Dumosh said by praising it as a proper step and in the interest of all sports organisations because the demand, without only any sport, tells of a unity that prevails in Kosovo's sport and shows the discipline of its character.

Kosovo should also see the countries of the region what steps they have taken in this direction how they will start commitments and sports activities, and we will jointly come out with a joint request to health institutions for access and adequate steps for federations for their planned activities for this year”, the minister explained further.

Meanwhile, KOK chairman Besim Hasani informed the minister that the KOK has held a visual meeting with sports federations to inform us of the situation of each federation of which they are at, and which of them, based on their specifics, can immediately start with exercise and competition.

Mayor Hasani said individual work has been done by athletes even at this time of isolation. Our focus has been on the Olympic team and national teams on how they acted. It was agreed and appreciated that it is best to make a joint request, not an individual request from the federation for the release of isolation measures to allow the development of sporting activities, and this to go through the MKRS.

Also discussed at the meeting were other problems and challenges facing sports federations this year, but together with the MKRS in collaboration with KOK and federations will do everything possible to return to normal.
