Angela Merkel's government on Wednesday granted permission for the first two levels, which have been suspended since March due to the coronary pandemic, to resume behind closed doors in the second half of May.
After a meeting in the DFL, Seifert announced on Thursday that 16 May was the date chosen to return the race, despite previous reports showing that the first match to be held would be Fortuna Dusseldorf against Paderborn on Friday, May 15th.
There are nine rounds left in Bundesliga, while Eintracht Frankfurt and Werder Bremen will meet on a specific date, due to the remaining match.
The 16 May matches will include derbin Repvier between Borussia Dortmund and Schalke, as well as the RB Leipzig house meeting against Fraiburg.
On Sunday, leaders of the Bayern Munich league will travel to the Berlin Union, while Kolni will fight Mainz.
The match between Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen will take place on May 18th, Monday.
The last day of matches is scheduled for the weekend of 2728 June.
