Scandalous: Justice Minister Proposes Confiscating Illegal Property Without Condemning covered Justice

A scandalous option with a dictatorial view or stance, as in previous years for confiscating illegal property, has been provided by the Ministry of Justice, a dictator led by Albulen Haxhiu, writes Metro newspaper.

A concept-document presented by the Ministry of Justice, one of the options for seizures of property, is extremely strange, seeing Kosovo acts as a democratic country and respects citizens' rights and freedom.

Human rights violations, property rights and equality before the law would be calculated seizures of property without a verdict or condemnation of the Court.

Of the three options provided in the concept-documental issue on the property acquired unwarrantedly, the Ministry of Justice (MD) has favoured the third option of drafting a new law, which would enable its confiscation without a condemned judgment.

“if it were to adopt the third option and proceed with the adoption of a new law that allows for the seizure of property acquired unwarrantably in the absence of a condemned act, Kosovo will not be the first state in the region either, and let alone in Europe to take such an act”, it says in concept-document.

It is not yet known whether this strange option proposed by the justice ministry will be backed, but such a decision on confiscating illegal property without a criminal conviction would cause major problems.

We remember that Minister Haxhiu has also warned himself in the justice system, but that hasn't happened yet.
