According to the medium El Mundo DeportivoMagpies have already officially opened negotiations to transfer the Brazilian star from Barcelona.
It is even claimed that Newcastle, the club that hopes to close the sale to the Saudi royal family in the coming weeks, wants Maurizio Pochetino, who took Chowon to Espanyol to replace current coach Steve Bruce.
The report claims that both Pochetino and former coach Rafael Benitez have given their approval for any deal on Coutinho.

Bayern Munich, where Coutinho is borrowed from Barcelona, has an opportunity to buy it for 120m euros at the end of the season, but numerous reports suggest this will not be exercised.
Barcelona is said to be inclined to sell the former Liverpool star this year to raise vital funds, while the player reportedly has very little interest in returning to Inter or to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Coutinho is said to be interested in a transfer to England or rather in a return to the Premier League.
Brazil scored 21 goals in 76 presentations to Barcelona after it was transferred for 160m euros from Reds in January 2018.
