The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diasporas has condemned the act of building the Serbian Orthodox Church in Batajnica.
Through a response to Facebok MPJD has considered this an act of contempt against Albanian victims.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Kosovo (MPJD) condemns the act of building the Serbian Orthodox Church in Batajnica, near the location where the troops of over 700 Albanians killed in 1999 were found in mass cemetery by Serbia's military and police forces. We consider this an act of contempt of the Serbian Church and authorities towards the Albanian victims of this genocide act of Serbia”, the MPJD) response reported.
In response there can reportedly be no peace agreement and reconciliation between Kosovo and Serbia until the latter acknowledges the crimes committed against Albanians in Kosovo.
“Instead of building a memorial plaque against innocent victims buried in this country where they had tried to hide state crime, Serbia continues to provoke such acts, as well as refuses to tell of the fate of more than 1600 missing Albanians during the war. There can be no peace agreement and reconciliation between Kosovo and Serbia, until the latter acknowledges the crimes committed against Albanians in Kosovo, and until it apologizes for these crimes, following and condemning many of the war criminals who have amnisted them”, it is said further in response.
