Lulzim Peci reacts to Faithful Bislim: If the quarantine is “receta” for lowering unemployment, it should also be awarded the Nobel Prize for Economy

Peci wrote that if quarantine is the recipe for reducing unemployment, then it should continue with it.

He has even proposed that the minister be awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics.

Peci's full response:

If the quarantine effect turns out to be some kind of <x0recete” for reducing unemployment in Kosovo, then let's keep going, until it falls into a numeral number.

But this job doesn't end any more, because that's why someone can even get the Nobel Prize for economics, if you get the connection between quarantine and reduction in unemployment.

So far in their applications for the measure of 3, 8 and 14 of the Government of Kosovo's emergency package, the country's companies have registered a total of 9,946 new workers, while announcing they have fired 1268 workers. According to official statistics late last year, 130,289 individuals have been registered as unemployed, and the official unemployment rate has been 25.9%.

The difference between young people and those who have lost their jobs caused the number of unemployed in just one month to drop by 6.6%, which represents the largest drop in the last 20 years. This, if taken as the only change in this period, means that the rate of official unemployment (still underrated) would drop to 24.1%.

Since 1999, the unemployment rate in Kosovo has never been lower than 24.5%.
