Zlatan Ibrahimovic is expected to return to Milan this Saturday, when he begins the two-week period in quarantine, before turning to training with Stefano Pioli's redspots.
The Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the 38-year-old would have preferred to have stayed further in Sweden if it had depended only on him.
Earlier it was reported by Italian media that the veteran attacker had been waiting to set a return date for football in Italy, yet now he is ready to return to Italy.
Once there, Ibrahimovic will have to be controlled by a medical staff, according to the Italian protocol, and then he will have to spend 14 days in quarantine, like any other player arriving abroad in Italy.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been training to keep his shape with Hammerby, the club in his native Sweden, while Milan is expected to hold its first exercises today, following tests that were done to players during the first days of this week.
Meanwhile, Italian media continue to speculate about his future, since his contract in San Siro is only valid until the end of this season.
Since his return to Serie A during the January transitional deadline, the former Juventu and Inter star has scored four goals and contributed one assist to its ten redsight matches.
