The incumbent government has announced that, during the last meeting, it has made a decision that reciprocity against Serbia will increase new measures. To this Kurti decision, European Union Special Envoy for Kosovo talks Miroslav Lajcak has reacted.
Through a post in his account at Titter, Lajcak said he is disappointed in this decision.
According to him, such actions undermine the resumption of dialogue and must be removed immediately.
“disappointed with the new reciprocity measures, imposed by Kosovo's incumbent government. Such unilateral actions undermine the resumption of dialogue and must be removed immediately. As stated repeatedly, we expect both sides in the dialogue to implement and respect past agreements”, Lajcak wrote.
Otherwise, the prime minister's office has suggested that the decision has been made to ban documents on agricultural and industrial products that enter from Serbia to Kosovo, using domestic names or containing other elements that are contrary to Kosovo laws.
“After the completion and changes of this decision, in trade relations with Serbia, documents are prohibited for agricultural and industrial products that use names of countries containing other elements contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo, the names of countries in the Republic of Kosovo, but without the appointment of the state, which do not refer to the Republic of Kosovo and contain any element that denies the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo”, it says in the communique.
This decision envisions companies from Serbia being equipped with entry permits for each vehicle with goods coming from Serbia to Kosovo.
The “Food and Veterinary Agency is tasked with using the coat of arms and the name of the Republic of Kosovo at phytosanitary and veterinary certificates, while economic operators from Serbia should be equipped with input permits for any cargo vehicle that enters the Republic of Kosovo from the Interconnecting Office of the Republic of Kosovo in Serbia”, said in the ZKMKMA communique to the media.
