Kosovo will not have a team at the next edition of the Champions League in basketball (Basketball Champions League).
In fact, it is the Kosovo Basketball Federation that has announced that it will not delegate any team to the next edition of the Basketball Champions League. It's this first level of FIBA European races, but not the highest European level.
FIBA is constantly in the race with Euroleague to lure the biggest European teams. Last edition of the Champions League was praised as the third European level after Euroleague and EuroCup.
Kosovo has been introduced to the Champions League, founded in 2016. Pristina in the past two editions has failed to pass the first qualifying round. Now there will be no Kosovo team in Champions.
The basketball edition has been cancelled in Kosovo and the champion has not been declared. And teams are expected to have financial trouble after they return to the race. The Kosovo team, however, is expected to have a fourth European level at FIBA Europe Cup.
“Teams will deposit the amount of fifteen thousand euros in the FBK account as a form of guarantee for participation in international competition”, the FBK Board's decision said.
