Vladimir Putin has awarded Kim Jong a top war medal for the 75th anniversary of Victory Day in Russia against Nazi Germany.
The honour was given to the North Korean dictator in preserving the memory of Soviet soldiers who were killed in battle, the Russian embassy in Peniana said.
Russian Ambassador Alexander Matsegora handed the medal to Kim's foreign minister, Ri Son-joen, at the Mansuda Palace of Congress.
Photo of the meeting showed the two officials wearing masks, although the communist state has so far not reported a case with Coronavirus.
Last year Putin invited Kim to visit Moscow on May 9th to attend the military parade of the anniversary of the victory. This year's parade was not held by the choreography, but Kim had kindly refused anyway.
Even in 2015, the Supreme Leader had refused an invitation to a 70-year victory.
Development follows prolonged noises about Kim's health until it emerged the day before in the inauguration of a fettilizer factory, ending speculation about death
