Facebook and Google have decided to allow workers who are able to work at a distance by the end of the year.
Facebook was among the first technology firms to ask its employees to start working from home. He gave employees $1000 (07) reward for their work from home and child care costs. In a statement today, a spokesman for the technology firm said:
Facebook has taken the next step in his return to work philosophy. Today, we announced that anyone who can do his work from a distance can choose to do so by the end of the year. As you can imagine, this is a developing situation, as employees and their families make important decisions - such as going back to work.
Facebook said it would reopen offices on July 6th, but is still determining which employees will be required to work in the company's environments, writes The Guardian.
Google Chief Executive Sundar Pichai said employees who have to return to the office will be able to do so by July with expanded security measures. Google initially said it would keep the job from home until June 1st, but is already extending it for another seven months.
