4 Years From a Historic Day

Today four years ago, Kosovo football followed many extremely difficult roads, and after much of the sacrifices and obstacles of enemies, it finally got to where it deserved. She entered the European football family, making a worthy 55th member of UEFA.

During this long journey, thousands of acts were traveled from the moment of soccer independence in the early 1990s. An entire army had worked under those difficult conditions, each contributing to the crucial day of May 3, 2016.

But the coming up to this day was hard facing major organisational problems because it was the Federation to set off in offensive but there was no funds to organise big events because it was not a member of the European home and there was no financial assistance to organise the matches.

The first match was that of 2002 with Albania, but not important for us as a national one that was about folk patriotism.

The first signs that something serious is beginning to happen were shown when we held the duel with Arabia in 2010 and won 1-0 with the Christian Nuss goal. In that match for us was Besnik Hasi, who was earlier captain of Albania, and his presentation had not come so well.

And after that the offensive for acceptance was even more vigorous.

And great credit in this regard has the Nexha brothers and Ziya Shoshi as well as Fekmi Kongjeli, this team from Germany that lobbied for 20 years unhindered for our National acceptance into the highest European football stages.
