Wessel talks with representatives of Albanian institutions in the region, urges co-operation to overcome pandemic

Chairman The PDK/s, Kadri Veselini has talked on the phone today with institution keepers in Albania, northern Macedonia, Montenegro and the Presevo Valley, to be interested in the pandemic situation.

In a Facebook post, Wessel has requested more co-ordination and co-operation to succeed Albanians in fighting pandemic.

This is his full status:

Today, I had some phone conversations with colleagues of Albanian leaders who are hosters of institutions in Albania, northern Macedonia, Montenegro and the Presevo Valley, to be interested in the situation of our countrymen in conditions of the coronary pandemic. I talked to the president of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta, who told me about the strict measures that have been taken and their effect.

In the conversation I had with the deputy. Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Bujar Osmani was also notified of the situation of Albanians there and the comprehensive economic package they have approved to save the economy from the consequences of this emergency situation. I also talked to Genc Nimanbeg, who is deputy speaker of the Montenegrin Parliament, from which I learned that the situation in this state is being managed relatively well and that the main concern of Albanians there is the risk of the upcoming tourist season from pandemic.

Recently, I also spoke with the chairman of the Albanian National Council in Serbia, Ragmi Mustaf, as well as with Presevo municipality Chairman Shqirim Arifin. The situation in the Presevo Valley is particularly heavy, and our delegations there are left entirely by Belgrade's central authorities. What makes their situation even more dramatic is the fact that tens of thousands of Albanians there can receive health services only from one hospital, the Vranje hospital, which is already overloaded. Presevo Valley needs today, more than ever, our solidarity and the help of the state of Kosovo.
