German Chancellor Angela Merkel defended the World Health Organisation (OBSH) during a call to the directors of the 7th Group (G-7) today.
This support comes two days after President Trump's decision to block US funds for the global body in the midst of the coronary pandemic
O The BSH was attacked by Trump and his allies for what they see as providing cover for China in the first days of the explosion and for opposing travel restrictions.
Stephen Seibert, a German government spokesman, said Merkel stressed that the pandemic requires a strong and coordinated international “response and expressed full support for WHO” and other international partners.
Comments come after the American president has repeatedly blamed O BSH about how the virus responded.
Trump announced on Tuesday, April 14th that his administration would block funds for O BSH, awaiting a review of her treatment of the coronary pandemic.
The US is the biggest contributor to WHO.
