President Emmanuel Macron said Monday that restrictions on public events would continue until mid-July.
The biggest cycling race, won by Egan Bernal of the Ineos team last year, will take place from 27 June to 19 July.
ASO race organisers have been contacted for comment.
The tournament, which begins in Nice, is being contested by many experts in this area.
On April 10th, the cycling management body cut staff as a result of global pandemic.
The International Union of Cyclists blamed the postponement of the Olympics and the Paralypas, plus the loss of its annual calendar for the move.
Giro d'Italia has already been cancelled, along with single-day competitions: Milan-San Remo, Tour of Flanders and Paris-Rubaix.
