According to PDK deputy chairman Shacir Totaj, it is a charity and must definitely be voted in the Parliament's proposal PDK of 320m euros.
This is Totay's full statement:
Seven weeks are being filled by the beginning of the pandemic in Kosovo, and while many European countries are planning to ease the measures and reopen the economy, the outgoing government of Kosovo has not yet given the economy deserved assistance.
Kurt's dismissed government, with the delay, accountability and inadequacy, has left the economy at risk of collapse and tens of thousands of private sector workers in survival conditions.
This outgoing government has been very negligible with the pandemic by not providing funds to fight the Coronavirus in the budget of the year, which was approved at a provisional session on March 14th, namely, after pandemic in Kosovo.
We even remember that Minister Roseta Hajdari proudly declared indifference to the emergency of pandemic, saying the government should not do anything to save the economy because according to her, “we did not bring the Coronavirus”
The Democratic Party of Kosovo has been the first party to have proposed an emergency package of about 320m euros to come to the aid of private businesses, as well as hundreds of thousands of private companies that were being forced to close as a result of the pandemic.
Even constructively, as has rarely happened with Kosovo's opposition parties, we offered the dismissed government, even our votes to make an extraordinary session, where we could make a difference -- complete this year's budget -- to enable the inclusion of this emergency package.
The dismissed government has rejected this invitation of ours to pass together legally a complete package of involved to save the economy from collapse and secure 300 euros a month in revenue for private sector workers.
He has even made an illegal decision at the ministry level for a deficit package of 180 million, through which it is promised that private sector workers would receive the minimum salary of 170 euros.
We remember here that it's about tens of thousands of workers who shouldn't be treated with charity, but they have to receive a decent salary the average of payments made in the private sector - at least 300 euros.
Not only do they need more 170 euros to cover their basic expenses but they also need to stimulate consumption in the economy.
In addition, government funds on the run are insufficient to guarantee the survival of private businesses and enable our economy's recovery after pandemic.
Thousands of businesses are being found today near bankruptcy because they do not have enough money to pay rents, loans or other basic operating expenses.
