The country's president Hashim Thaci, H, has been visiting the Soviet Navy Witnesses' Memorial complex, honouring the commander of the 144 Brigade, Ilaz Kodra, on the 21st anniversary of his fall.
Thaci said Ilaz Kodra came heroicly in the face of the Serbian Army, thus protecting the civilian population.
“We are in memory of the anniversary of the heroic fall of co-war and commander Ilaz Kodra, one of the founders of UCK, who heroicly fell 21 years ago”, the president said.
The president said that in Verboc, Drenica, the Serbian paramilitary army has committed one of the most terrible massacres on the civilian population.
The “at the same time today we remember with the highest respect of 300 Albanian civilians, women, children and elders killed by the Serbian Army here in the village of Verbovc in Drenica. This massacre committed in Verboc is in line of 400 massacres the Serbian Army has committed on the Albanian population”, Thaci said.
President Thaci reiterated that the Serbian genocide committed in Kosovo, under no circumstances, cannot be amnified.
This makes no sense but what has become clear that Serbia has committed genocide in Kosovo, it has committed ethnic cleansing. Unfortunately, international silence has created an amnesty for the Serbian genocide. But there is no factor and circumstances that house the Serbian genocide committed in Kosovo”, Thaci said.
