Kosovo police have announced they will take all police actions conform legal authorization throughout Kosovo.
The Office for Information near the Kosovo Police has said that, in addition to the quarantine of the northern Mitrovica municipality and Zvecan will co-operate with competent institutions, including local ones, with the aim of preventing spread of pandemic.
The municipalities of North Mitrovica and Zvecan, between 18:00 and Friday, have been quarantined, due to the conditions created by coronarys.
The news was made known by North Mitrovica Mayor Goran Rakic, who said the decision was made by the crisis headquarters.
Opposition parties in the country have reacted to this decision.
The Express newspaper has asked the Kosovo Police what measures they will take regarding the situation created in northern Kosovo municipalities.
Kosovo police have declared that based on the operational order for action against David-19, they will take all police action on the entire territory of Kosovo.
Kosovo's “Police, based on the operational command for readiness and action on COVID-19, will take all police actions to conform to the legal authorisations it has, in all areas of Kosovo”, have declared the Police Information Office on Saturday.
On the other hand, police have said they will also co-operate with local institutions with the intention of preventing the spread of the virus.
“Based in the situation and circumstances created by pandemic, with the aim of preventing the spread of the virus and with the aim of co-ordinating activities, The KP will co-operate with all competent institutions, including those locale”, have stated by the KK.
Meanwhile today the head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo for the North Mitrovica branch, Gonge Chaushi today, has spoken about the serious situation that was created in northern Kosovo following the Serbian police hour's deployment, as well as the Serbian authorities' decision to quarantine the Kosovo municipalities of northern Mitrovica and Zvecan.
In a post on her Facebook page, she has made co-aware of the handover of Kosovo's sovereignty, the outgoing government of Kurti saying there has been “permission issued for Serb parallel structures to autonomously manage measures against pandemic within our state”.
PDK chairmanship MP Abelard Tahiri has said it is very disturbing that official Belgrade has introduced northern Mitrovica and Zvecanin into quarantine, while dismissed Prime Minister Albin Kirti is silent.
And AAK Deputy Chairman Ahmet Isufi has reacted via a Facebook post about recent developments in northern Kosovo.
Serbia puts municipalities in quarantine of the northern part of Kosovo. Where are the institutions of the country that don't act according to the Constitution and the laws in power?!” wrote Isufi.
