The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspore, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment have completed organising two next flights to return a number of citizens of the Republic of Kosovo who have remained abroad due to the worldwide restrictions on preventing the pandemic of COVID-19.

The first flight from Switzerland will be organised on April 20th, while on April 21st flight from Turkey will be organised. The number of citizens allowed for these flights has already been met, based on restrictions set by the MS, these that depend on quarantine capacity and medical checkups in the Republic of Kosovo. These flights include citizens of our Republic who have emergencies and a large portion of them are patients who have been treated abroad, or persons who have been without finances and no housing during this period of pandemic. As the MPJD, through our missions we currently have about 2,400 requests to return to the Republic of Kosovo, 600 of which are emergency cases. We're constantly collecting information about the new requirements and this information we're forwarding to MS. At the first moment when quarantine capacity is released, after MSh's announcement by us through our embassies and in co-ordination with MIA we will organise new flights from other countries as well, said the media report.

It was also said they realise that this period is particularly difficult for those who remain outside the Republic of Kosovo and want to return and we are working on this return to happen as soon as possible.

But we should remember that the return should happen in line with the health capacities our country has, otherwise we would risk the people we bring back, their loved ones, and make the general health situation worse in the country by extending the life of pandemic. Together, let us take care and patience until this situation is passed”, it is added away.
