Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Ariania Musliushi has criticised Government, namely, the Ministry of Health that has no access to the management of Coronavirus pandemic in the country's north.
She has asked Minister of Health Arben Vitita, among other things, how it is possible that the ministry he directs has not recognised the number of infected or isolated.
This is her full post:
The Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute of Kosovo are the only institutions to communicate and issue precise and valid reports about those infected with Covid-19 on the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo. While that does not apply when it is in question northern Mitrovica!
No farther than yesterday, the two Mitrovica mayors (Agim Bahtiri and Goran Rakiq) held the conference, pointing to the current situation over the pandemic. Mr. Rakiq, indicated that the number of people infected with Covid-19 in the northern part is 17 and that there are over 200 isolated citizens. While there is no official announcement from the Ministry for this number of infected people, as the only institution that exercises legal and professional supervision in the entire Kosovo health system.
There are some fundamental questions:
1. How could the Ministry of Health not be aware of the number of infected in the North Mitrovica municipality while its chairman shows the number of infected and the number of isolated?
2. Has the minister made the decision to isolate these residents in any location in northern Mitrovica?
3. At what institute are the samples from the infected in this municipality of Kosovo being conducted?
