PDK: Kurti's unconstitutional decision on Telekom turns Kosovo into Communism

The Democratic Party of Kosovo has condemned the harmful actions of the self-described government Kurti in relation to the Constitution and Kosovo laws.

“After a series of constitutional and legal violations, it also approved a constitutional and legal ruling, excluding telecommunications services that Kosovo Telekom offers from the scope of the Public Procurement Law. With this scandalous decision, it has committed a series of violations and hit the basic values of a democratic society, directly attacking the private sector and free competition. The act also represents a setback towards a centralised communist state economy model that over the past century failed wherever it was applied in 85 countries and on five continents”, the PDK's response reported.

The PDK has further stressed that Kosovo is defined -- even in the Constitution -- to build a liberal economy, based on private property initiative, on free trade and rule of law.

Also, this decision is contrary to the definition Kosovo has adopted to integrate into the European family and the supportive insult of the people of Kosovo as among the most pro-European. European integration requires, among other things, meeting the economic criteria, meaning building a functional market economy that has the ability to interact with the pressures of EU internal market competition”, the PDK's response is said to be further.

The Democratic Party of Kosovo judges that the government's decision is unacceptable, harmful and dangerous for the future of our country's democracy and economy, as well as for the European integration process.

Therefore, we call on all competent bodies of our state to bring down this decision by committing all judicial mechanisms that guarantee the constitutional, democratic and economic values of our state. We also urge the European Union and the embassies of partner countries to denounce this decision and pressure for its annulment. Finally, we also call on civil society and all public opinion to raise its voices against the continued arbitrary actions of this banned government, which is turning into unhindered tradition of violating the constitution and the laws of our country”, said at the end of the response. /Periscopi/
