The government of Northern Macedonia set up police hours every day between 16 and 5am throughout the country. This measure comes into force from Wednesday. At the weekend, the curfew will be implemented 24 hours.
During the week, people up to 18 years old will have a movement of 1300-15pm, and people over 67 by 10,00-12.00.
The government has also decided to limit moving to public places. More than two people are not allowed to attend, while the measure is not valid for 14-year-olds if they are accompanied by parents.
The decision comes after recommendations by the General Staff of Crisis on the basis of expectations for increasing the number of infected over the next two weeks.
Technical Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski says that under analysis, the peak of the crisis in the country is expected the next three weeks.
According to experts, the next 2-3 weeks will reach the peak of those infected by the Coronavirus, which will likely be between 2000 and 2,500. It is better to prepare for more and the number be less than the opposite”, Spasovski said.
Spasovski added that religious holidays and ceremonies this year will be held from home, with the aim of preserving public health.
He also appealed to the media to be careful with news broadcasts, and he urged the responsible bodies to fight false news, aimed at spreading panic to citizens. /AlsatM/
