Third shipment with personal protective equipment to support first-line health workers against COVID-19 was handed over to the Health Ministry today.
According to the Health Ministry's announcement, the third shipment contains 8,960 surgical cloaks, 2,680 NFF2 / N95 masks, and 3,600 surgical masks as assistance from the Luxembourg Government.
So far, U n NICEF has offered 36,200 bail, 68,544 surgical masks, 5,380 NFF2/N95 masks, 1,000 convoys for protection, 51,460 surgical cloaks and 2,934 defensive fronts, 81 infrared clinic thermometers, all in support of response to pandemic in Kosovo for all communities living in Kosovo.
Acting Health Minister Arben Vitita welcomed this shipment, saying these tools would help many doctors.
“MF welcomes the partner's contribution in the joint fight against Covis-19, while professional protection equipment will help health personnel to fight with the highest security to prevent and fight this disease”, Vitita noted, writes the news.net.
Meanwhile, Luxembourg Embassy Mission Chief Natasa Gomes said Luksenburg would support Kosovo in the fight against COVID-19.
“As the main partner in Kosovo's health sector, it is crucial that Luxembourg support Kosovo in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. This is just one of the planned interventions and we're proud to be working with our reliable partner. U n NICEF to reach those who otherwise could not have access to life-saving supplies and services”, she said.

The UNICEF office in Kosovo will continue to support institutions and communities throughout Kosovo to overcome challenges that have been presented as a result of COVID-19. We know that children and young people suffer disproportionately from COVID-19. As we continue to offer life-saving supplies through generous support of our donors, including the Luxembourg Government, we will improve programmes so that every young child can be helped with the response plans and recovery of COVID-1950.
Secretary General Christopher Coleman's Special Representative, who was present for the achievement of recent donations, commended him U n NICEF for providing vital equipment under these challenging circumstances.
The United Nations stands side by side with the people of Kosovo in the collective battle against pandemic. Let us not forget that this virus is a threat to all in Kosovo, regardless of each's ethnic affiliation, confidence or status. If we act together and with solidarity, we can also overcome this” crisis.
