Moghrin with other diplomats defend Iran: Trump's call removes sanctions due to Coronavirus

A group of 24 top diplomats and defence officials, including four former Nato secretaries, have called on Donald Trump to save hundreds of thousands of lives in the Middle East by facilitating medical and humanitarian sanctions to Iran. The call has also been supported by former EU foreign affairs chief Federica Moghrini, known in Kosovo for her active role in negotiations with Serbia in Brussels.
The Trump had restored willful sanctions on Tehran in May 2018 after withdrawing from the international agreement imposing limits on Iran's nuclear programme, writes The Guardian, translates Periscope.
The superparty group is not putting pressure on a general removal of sanctions, but instead a retreat to facilitate American regulations preventing Tehran from trading human and medical supplies.
Iranians are facing the <x0th of their country's darkest times” says the group. “Crossing borders to save lives is our security initiative and we must overcome the political differences between governments,” is further added.
Among the signatories is former US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, former American Defence Secretary William Cohen and Chuck Hagel and many others.
And centrist and progressive Democrats, including Joe Biden, have called for the removal of sanctions. /Periscope
