Germany will see it within two weeks if partial relaxation of restrictions in public life raises the infection level, Merkel told reporters.
“We must remain vigilant and disciplined”, she said.
After a few weeks of isolation, Germany has levelled the curve of new coronary infections and said last week that the disease is under control.
By Monday, authorities there have allowed the reopening of small shops, libraries and bicycle shops, provided they apply physical distance measures.
On Monday, Germany has recorded 1,775 new cases of coronary and 110 casualties.
With these figures, the total number of infected has increased to over 145,700, while the casualties to 4,404.
