South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha has spoken of dealing with her country's Devid-19 pandemic, a country that has been praised worldwide for dealing with this situation.

With about 10,500 cases of coronavirus and a little over 200 deaths to date, South Korea has avoided the high death rate seen in many other countries.

Kang warned, however, that some patients in South Korea who had recovered from Covid-19 have positive “tested” a few days later.

During an interview for France24, Kelgrapho, South Korean Foreign Minister Kang Küung-wha said the number of cases with Covid-19 was “stabilized” in her country.

She pointed out that her government had “quickly and presedibly”, clarifying that strong testing and tracking contact had been important to curb pandemic and bring it under control.

She added that full transparency was also essential.

Kang confirmed for the first time that South Korea will send about 600,000 complete US testing after a conversation between the presidents of the two countries, adding that the contracts were signed and the completed “would soon be sent to”.

Asked whether she was afraid of a second wave of the virus, she admitted that “from) those completely cured and released, many of them were found to come up positive, a few days later”, stressing that the nature of the virus was not yet fully known.

“We have many cases found among the last travelers who have returned to the country from overseas trips”, Kang added. “This is a global challenge; it's not enough that we contain the disease within the country; this is a challenge we have to overcome together as a global community”.

According to South Korean Foreign Minister, its government's philosophy has always been to respect the human right to freedom of movement”, but added that travel restrictions were imposed in order to avoid a second wave of the virus.
Kang said the idea of a mandatory deadlock would not be acceptable to South Koreans, and the country would not impose one, even when there was an early outbreak of the virus in February.

The “ide of a mandatory blockade would be contrary to our opening principle”, she explained.

She hailed the World Health Organisation as “a very co-operative and very useful partner” during the crisis, refusing to approve American President Donald Trump's criticism of the organisation.

Finally, addressing neighboring North Korea, she said that the claim that there are no cases of Covid-19 must deal with a <x0reberebel” and that her government was closely monitoring the situation.

She said Seoul had offered co-operation on the health of Pyongyang, but had not yet received a positive answer.
