Public Health Director in the city of Liverpool Matthew Ashton has said that the Champions League match between Liverpool and Atletico Madrid should not have developed after the rise in the coronary cases there.
Ashton, who took his role Wednesday, is responsible for co-ordinating measures on pandemic by working from home until the confirmed cases in Liverpool have gone to 262.
“It wasn't the right decision to play game”, Ashton told the English daily “The Guardian”.
“Although we will never know, the match with Atletico Madrid may have been one of the cultural events and gatherings that have contributed to the rise in Liverpool”, he added.
